2. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you use letsaumogale.com, when you buy the book or anything else from us through the website, email, WhatsApp or an invoice, and when you book one of our services. If a signed proposal, quote or engagement letter for a service says something different, that document wins for that service; these terms fill any gaps.
By using the site, placing an order or confirming a booking, you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian place the order.
If you buy as a business, the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA) may not apply to you (for example, if your annual turnover or asset value is at or above the threshold set by the Minister). Where these terms describe a consumer right that only applies because of the CPA or ECTA, it applies to you only if that law applies to you. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law gives you.
3. Using this website
- Use the site lawfully. Don’t try to break into it, overload it, scrape it in bulk, or use the forms to send spam or harmful content.
- The site’s writing, quotes, principles and ideas are general information to inspire and inform. They are not personal, financial, legal, medical or professional advice for your situation.
- We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we can’t promise it will be error-free or online every minute. If you notice a mistake, tell us and we’ll fix it.
- Links to other websites (for example social media or our payment provider) are for convenience. We don’t control those sites and their own terms apply.
- This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our payment provider may use cookies on its own pages when you pay. See the Privacy Policy.
4. What we sell
The book
Roots Before Fruits: Five Principles for Leaders Who Last by Letsau Mogale, published by Letsau Mogale (Pty) Ltd, with cover design and layout by Inspired Publishing. Paperback, signed by the author when ordered through this site. Photos and mock-ups on the site show the design; the printed book may differ slightly in colour and finish.
Services
Keynote speaking, executive coaching, leadership programmes and leadership mentoring. These are quoted per engagement and governed by section 11 plus the proposal or quote you accept.
5. How an order is made
- You fill in the order form. Before you submit, the form shows the number of copies, the delivery option, the delivery charge and the total due, so you can check and correct your order. ECTA s43(2)
- You get a reference and an email with your order details and how to pay. At this stage your copy is reserved, but no contract of sale exists yet.
- The contract is formed when we confirm your payment. We confirm by email, normally the same business day.
- We may decline an order (for example, if stock runs out, the address is outside our delivery area, or the order looks fraudulent). If you have paid, we refund you in full.
Pricing mistakes. If a price on the site is clearly wrong because of a typing or technical error, we will tell you before we accept your order and you may choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
6. Prices
| Retail price | R350 per copy |
|---|---|
| Pre-order price | R289 per copy, for orders placed and paid from 24 September 2026 to 15 January 2027 (23:59 SAST) |
| Bulk prices | R259 per copy for 20–49 copies · R239 per copy for 50–99 copies · 100+ copies quoted |
| Courier within South Africa | R95 per order · free on orders of 3 or more copies |
| Collection in Pretoria | Free, by arrangement |
| Outside South Africa | Quoted separately before you pay |
All prices are in South African rand. The total shown on the order form and in your confirmation email is the full price you pay, including delivery. There are no hidden fees. Your own bank may charge you for making a payment; that charge is between you and your bank.
7. Payment: EFT and Ozow
7.1 EFT (bank transfer)
- Pay into the company account shown in section 1, using the reference given to you (your surname plus the last four digits of your mobile number, or your invoice number).
- Send proof of payment to info@letsaumogale.com. Pre-orders must be paid by 15 January 2027 to keep the pre-order price.
- We treat an order as paid only once the money reflects in our account. Payments between different banks can take 1–2 business days to clear.
7.2 Ozow (instant EFT)
- You can pay instantly with Ozow, a third-party payment service that lets you pay from your own bank’s online banking or app.
- When you choose Ozow, you leave our site and pay on Ozow’s secure payment page. We never see or store your banking login details, PINs or one-time passwords. Ozow’s own terms and privacy notice apply to that step.
- The amount is worked out on our server from the prices in these terms, so it can’t be changed in your browser.
- A payment is only final once we receive Ozow’s confirmation. If a payment is cancelled, abandoned or fails, no order is confirmed; you can try again or pay by EFT.
- Refunds of Ozow payments are made by EFT to the bank account the payment came from.
7.3 Payment safety
We will never ask you for your card number, banking password, PIN or OTP, by any channel. Our payment page address always starts with https://pay.ozow.com. When in doubt, stop and contact us.
8. Delivery and collection
- Pre-orders are printed in late January 2027, couriered from 8 February 2027 and delivered to arrive by Friday 19 February 2027. Pre-orders placed before 30 October 2026 were quoted 11 December 2026; those customers have been told of the new date in writing, keep the pre-order price, and may cancel for a full refund at any time before dispatch.
- Orders after the book is in stock are dispatched within 3 business days of payment and normally arrive 2–5 business days later.
- If we have not agreed a delivery date with you, we deliver within 30 days of your order, as ECTA requires. If we can’t, we’ll tell you, and you may cancel for a full refund.
- We courier within South Africa to street addresses only (not PO boxes). You get a tracking number on dispatch. Please make sure someone can receive the parcel.
- If a parcel is returned to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, or nobody was there after the courier’s attempts, we may charge the cost of re-sending it.
- ▲ Ownership and risk pass to you when the book is delivered to the address you gave us, or when you collect it.
- Please check your parcel on delivery and tell us within 7 days if it arrives damaged or incomplete, with a photo. We will replace it at our cost.
9. Cancellations, returns and refunds
9.1 Change of mind: 7-day cooling-off (ECTA s44)
If you bought online, you may cancel without giving a reason and without penalty within 7 days after you receive the book. Email us to cancel and return the book, unused and in its original condition. ▲ The only cost to you is the direct cost of returning it.
9.2 Cancelling a pre-order before dispatch
You may cancel a pre-order at any time before it is dispatched, for a full refund, including any delivery charge.
9.3 Faulty or damaged books (CPA s55–56)
If a book has a printing or binding defect, or arrives damaged, you may return it within 6 months of delivery. You choose whether we repair (replace the part, where possible), replace it, or refund you. We pay the cost of returning it. This does not cover ordinary wear, or damage caused after delivery.
9.4 How refunds are paid
- We refund within 10 business days of your cancellation or of receiving the returned book, and always within the 30 days ECTA allows.
- Refunds go by EFT to the account the payment came from. If you paid by EFT, we may ask for a bank confirmation letter in the account holder’s name, to make sure the money goes back to the right person.
9.5 Signed or personalised copies
A signature does not affect your rights. A copy personalised with a dedication you asked for can be returned if it is faulty, but not for a change of mind unless the law gives you that right.
10. Bulk and corporate orders
- We issue a written quote for bulk orders. The quote states the quantity, price per copy, delivery and the date by which it must be accepted.
- We accept purchase orders from companies and institutions. Unless the quote says otherwise: individuals pay in full before dispatch; companies pay 50% when ordering and the balance before delivery; approved organisations with an official purchase order pay within 30 days of the invoice date.
- Books ordered in bulk at a discounted price are for the buyer’s own distribution (for example, to staff, delegates or members) and not for resale, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- If Letsau joins a session as part of a bulk order, the date, length and format are agreed in writing, and section 11 applies to that session.
11. Speaking, coaching, programmes and mentoring
This section applies to keynotes, workshops, executive coaching, leadership programmes and leadership mentoring. The proposal, quote or engagement letter you accept (the “proposal”) sets out the scope, dates, fees and deliverables.
11.1 How a booking is made
- You send an enquiry. We reply within 2 business days.
- We have a short call to understand the audience, outcomes and logistics.
- We send a proposal with the fee. It is valid for 14 days.
- The booking is confirmed when you accept the proposal in writing (email is enough) and we receive the deposit, or an official purchase order where agreed. Until then, the date is not held.
11.2 Fees and payment
- Keynotes, workshops and programmes: 50% deposit to confirm; the balance by 7 days before the event, unless the proposal says otherwise.
- Executive coaching: invoiced per term (three or six months), payable in advance or monthly in advance as agreed.
- Mentoring: as set out in the proposal (fixed fee, monthly retainer or daily rate).
- Invoices are payable within 7 days of the invoice date unless the proposal or an approved purchase order says otherwise. You may pay by EFT or on our payment page with Ozow.
- Travel, accommodation and ground transport for events outside Gauteng are for your account, either booked by you or invoiced at cost, as stated in the proposal.
- If an invoice is unpaid 14 days after its due date, we may pause the work until it is paid, and charge interest on the overdue amount at the rate allowed by law.
11.3 Cancelling or moving a booking
You may cancel a booking. ▲ Because a confirmed date is held for you and other work is turned away, a reasonable cancellation charge applies, based on how much notice you give:
| Notice before the event | What you pay |
|---|---|
| More than 60 days | The deposit is refunded, less any non-refundable costs we have already paid on your behalf (such as flights) |
| 30 to 60 days | 50% of the fee |
| Fewer than 30 days | 100% of the fee |
- Moving instead of cancelling: one change of date, requested more than 30 days ahead and to a date within 6 months, is free, subject to availability. The deposit carries over.
- No charge applies if you cancel because of the death or hospitalisation of the person who made the booking, as the CPA (s17) provides.
- Coaching sessions can be moved free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. A session missed or cancelled with less notice counts as used, except in an emergency.
- If we have to cancel (for example because of illness), we will offer another date or someone suitable in consultation with you, or refund everything you have paid for the cancelled work. We are not responsible for your other event costs.
11.4 What we ask of you
- Accurate information about the audience, venue, timing and technical set-up, and timely access to people and information we reasonably need.
- A safe venue and working audio-visual equipment, unless the proposal says we will provide it.
11.5 Recording, content and materials
- You may record a keynote for internal, non-commercial use by your organisation, if you tell us beforehand. Public, broadcast or commercial use (including posting the full talk online) needs our written consent and may carry a fee.
- Talks, slides, workbooks, frameworks (including the five roots and the ROOTS method) and other materials remain our intellectual property. You may use materials we hand over within your own organisation for the purpose of the engagement.
- Work we create only for you in a mentoring engagement becomes yours once paid in full, unless the proposal says otherwise. We keep our general know-how, methods and tools.
11.6 Confidentiality
We keep confidential what you and your people share with us in an engagement, and use it only for that engagement. In coaching, what a leader says in a session is not reported to their employer without the leader’s agreement, except for attendance and agreed goals, or where the law requires us to disclose it. We may say that we worked with your organisation (name and logo only) unless you ask us not to.
11.7 Outcomes
▲ We bring experience, preparation and full effort. Leadership and business results also depend on many things outside our control, so we do not guarantee any specific result, promotion, revenue or outcome from a talk, coaching or advice. Decisions you make on the strength of our advice remain yours.
12. Intellectual property
The site, the book, the Letsau Mogale name and logo, photographs, videos, text, quotes and designs belong to us or to people who have allowed us to use them. You may share links and quote short passages with credit. You may not copy, republish, sell or adapt our content, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our written permission.
13. ▲ Limits on our responsibility
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, for death or injury we cause, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, including your rights under the CPA.
- Subject to that, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost profit, lost opportunity or reputational harm) arising from your use of the site, the book or our services.
- Subject to that, our total responsibility for any claim relating to an order or engagement is limited to the amount you paid us for that order or engagement.
- We are not responsible for losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as load-shedding, courier or postal disruptions, strikes, natural disasters, illness, or failures of banks, payment providers or networks. If such an event delays us, we will tell you and do what we reasonably can; if the delay is long, either of us may cancel and you will be refunded for anything not delivered.
- We are not responsible for the content, security or availability of other websites and services we link to, including payment and courier providers, although we choose them carefully.
- ▲ If you pay money into a bank account other than the one in section 1 because of a fraudulent message, we cannot treat that as payment to us. Please always check our details on this site first.
14. Your personal information
We collect only what we need to fulfil your order or enquiry (name, contact details, delivery address, order and payment details) and handle it under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). We do not sell your information. The full details, including who we share it with and your rights, are in our Privacy Policy. Our PAIA and POPIA Manual explains how to request records we hold.
15. Complaints and disputes
- Email info@letsaumogale.com with your order reference or invoice number. We acknowledge every complaint within 2 business days and aim to resolve it within 10 business days.
- If you are a consumer and are unhappy with our answer about goods, you may refer the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za) or the National Consumer Commission (thencc.gov.za). For online-transaction complaints, you may also contact the ECTA consumer affairs office at the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition.
- Nothing stops either of us from going to a court with jurisdiction. You may use the Small Claims Court where it applies.
16. General
- Governing law. South African law governs these terms.
- Electronic communication. You agree that we may communicate with you by email and that orders, confirmations and notices sent electronically have the same effect as written ones. An email is treated as received when it enters your mailbox, as ECTA provides.
- Changes. We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the site when you place an order or accept a proposal applies to that order or engagement. We show the version date at the top of this page.
- Severability. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we don’t give it up.
- Whole agreement. These terms, together with any proposal or quote you accept and our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about their subject.
