8. How to request a record
- Complete the prescribed request form, Form 2 (Request for Access to Record), available on the Information Regulator’s website. Requests to access or correct your own personal information under POPIA can also be sent to us by email.
- Send it to the Information Officer by email or to the street address in section 2.
- Give enough detail for us to identify the record and you, say how you want access (copy, inspection, email) and, for a record held by a private body, identify the right you want to exercise or protect and explain why the record is needed.
- If you ask on someone else’s behalf, include proof of your authority.
- We will decide within 30 days of receiving a complete request, and may extend this once by up to 30 days where PAIA allows, in which case we will tell you why.
9. Fees
A requester (other than someone asking for their own personal information) pays the prescribed request fee before we process the request. An access fee may be payable for search, preparation and reproduction, and a deposit may be required where the search will take longer than the prescribed time. All fees are those set out in the PAIA Regulations as amended from time to time, which are published on the Information Regulator’s website. We will tell you the amount in writing before any work is done. Fees are paid into our business account listed in the Terms and Conditions, using your request reference.
10. Grounds for refusal
We may or must refuse access on the grounds set out in Chapter 4 of Part 3 of PAIA, including where access would involve the unreasonable disclosure of another person’s personal information; confidential commercial information of a third party or of the company; information supplied in confidence; the safety of individuals or property; records privileged from production in legal proceedings; or where the request is manifestly frivolous or vexatious. If a record cannot be found or does not exist, we will tell you by affidavit or affirmation.
11. Remedies
The company has no internal appeal procedure. If you are unhappy with our decision, you may, within 180 days of being notified of it, lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator or apply to a court with jurisdiction for appropriate relief.

This manual is available on our website at letsaumogale.com/paia.html and for inspection, free of charge, at our registered office. A printed copy can be requested at the prescribed fee for copies. We will update it when our information changes.
